Welcome Super Geeks
This site is designed to be a resource for all of my students and their parents. We joke daily about how awesome it is to be a "Geek" and that we don't want to just be geeks but Super Math Geeks, thus the reason for site name. Check back frequently for various assignment updates, class highlights and upcoming events.
There is no try...
Part of our class mission is to pursue excellence in everything we do. People may be born with natural gifts or aptitudes, but math is a subject that may be learned through diligence and practice. No one in my class is allowed to say, "I'm not a 'math person.'" I often refer to military terms from my experience as a cadet and a 2nd Lt. in Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the United States Air Force. "There is no try" is an officer describing the concept of choosing to "do or do not" in other words choosing to do the work or not. Finding every possible way to come to class prepared with notebook, etc... along with homework assignments. In order to prepare you for high school and upper education as well as your future career, it is important that we maintain high expectations and encourage each other to "do"!
